*Welcome to our Year 6 Class Page!*

Welcome back to school and your first term in Year Six.  I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable summer and are ready for all that your last year at Chiseldon Primary will bring!

This term begins with the whole school topic of Superhero Academy.  I am very excited about this and together we will be designing our own superhero, including thinking about their origin story and superpower - we will then use this to create our own comic strip.  Throughout this topic we will also be thinking about those people that are considered superheroes in real life, which links nicely to our English sentence stacking unit where we will be writing a biography about Rosa Parks.

This term, PE will be every Tuesday as we will be swimming, so please remember your costume and towel in a separate bag to your school bag.

Music lessons will be every Thursday afternoon where you will continue to play the trumpet.

If you are enjoying using the different areas during break and lunch time, please remember to bring a change of footwear (wellies/old trainers) that is suitable for the forest and field areas - no doubt we will still experience lots of rain!

Maths Homework, Reading and Spelling

  • You will receive daily maths homework online through Doodle Maths. This will give you a personalised set of questions each day to work on as well as any assignments set related to our learning in class.
  • Spellings will go live on Doodle Spell each Friday with a spelling test the following Friday. Remember to practise your Spelling Bee spellings too which can be found below.
  • Reading at Chiseldon is so important; please read each night for a minimum of 20 minutes so that you are widening your knowledge of a variety of texts and vocabulary (and also building up to your 30 reads prize)! You can record this via the Boom Read app.

If you have any further questions, please contact me using the form at the top of the page.

Many thanks
