Year 6

Welcome to our Year 6 Class Page!

Welcome back to Term 5!

This term, our topic is called 'Guten Tag!' where we will be studying Germany. You will be learning about its geographical characteristics as well building on your prior knowledge of WW2 and linking that to significant historical events.  This will include the impact of The Cold War and how it led to other key parts in history such as the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall.

Take a look at the topic web below to find out what else we will be learning this term.

SATs week takes place during the week beginning 9th May 2022. You have all been working so hard so I have no doubt that you will all try your best - that's all I can ask for.  The timetable for the week can be found under the letters section.

PE lessons will be every Monday afternoon; please make sure your kit is in at the start of the week so you can use your trainers for the daily mile too.

Music lessons will be every Tuesday afternoon (this term only).

Maths Homework, Reading and Spelling

  • You will receive daily maths homework which will focus on arithmetic and times tables questions - please complete in your homework book and bring back into school each morning. If you are unsure on a certain question, please let me know so I can go through it with you.
  • Spellings will go home each Friday with a spelling test the following Friday. Remember to practise your Spelling Bee spellings too which can be found in your reading record or below.
  • Reading at Chiseldon is so important; please read each night for a minimum of 20 minutes so that you are widening your knowledge of a variety of texts and vocabulary (and also building up to your 30 reads prize)! You ca record this via the GoRead app.

If you have any further questions, please contact me using the form at the top of the page.

Many thanks
