Term 5- Summer 2024

Welcome to your class page!

It has been lovely returning to Nursery and seeing how everyone has got on and meeting some new friends too!!

Here you can find out about all the things we will be doing and the links below will be updated weekly to share with family and friends. If you do not see your child's photo and would like to give permission for them to be on the website, please let me know at the door and I will update our systems.

This year will be full of smiles, friendships and success!!!

We have put this list together to help with some queries:

Every day your child is in, please ensure they have:

  • A change of clothes
  • Nappies (if required)
  • Named water bottle containing water
  • Named wellies (which can stay at school)
  • Named coat, as our weather is so changeable
  • House badge to be pinned on securely

No PE kit is required in Nursery.

Hot dinners need to be ordered in advance.  Please talk to your child about what they would like to eat so that they know what to expect at lunchtime.  Menus are available in the Parents' tab.

Achievements outside of school (eg swimming badges, football trophies, martial arts belts) can be brought into school on Friday for celebration assembly.

We start the day when we say “see you later” to our families and join our friends with our active morning activity, ranging from Squiggle while you Wiggle to colouring in . This energises us and puts us in a great mood for the rest of the day! We’ll have some learning time on the carpet as a whole class, group work with an adult, individual choosing when we can enjoy activities in the garden, express ourselves in the role play area, be creative with crafts and arts or play with games/puzzles/construction.

We’ll join the rest of the school for morning play on the playground when we will have a snack and drink.  If staying all day, we’ll have either a hot dinner or a packed lunch in the hall, followed by play with the rest of the school.

Sounds Write is when we will be learning phonemes to help us read plus beginning to distinguish between different sounds in our environment. Be prepared to hear lots of nursery rhymes, songs and stories as the children will want to share with you!

This term's topic is all about 'Where in the World' so we will be learning about lots of different places and how it is the same or different from our own homes.

If you have any questions or queries please see me or feel free to use the contact the class teacher section on this page and we will get back to you within 48 hours.

Many thanks
