Welcome back to our fourth term. We hope that you all had a lovely half term holiday, despite the cold, windy and wet conditions.

This term our topic is ‘Tomb Raiders’ where we will be learning about Ancient Egyptians.

In Science, we will be learning about plants.

PE will continue to be on Thursday afternoon where your child will need black shorts, t-shirt in their house colour and trainers. Also as the weather is getting colder they will also need a dark jumper and tracksuit bottoms. Trainers need to be in every day for The Mile Run, which will be completed on our new running track.

This term we will also be going swimming every Wednesday afternoon, so don’t forget your costume/trunks, towel and swimming hat.

We will also be continuing with music on a Tuesday afternoon where our recorder skills will develop.

The 48 spellings for Spring term are below. The children will be tested on these for a test at the end of this term. Weekly spellings will also be given out every Friday for a test the following Friday.

We also ask that they read for 20 minutes a day as well as complete ten minutes on Times Tables Rock Stars.

By the end of Year 3 you need to the x 2, x 3, x 4, x 5, x 8 and x 10 multiplication facts.

If you have any queries or would like to speak to us about anything we will be available at 8:30am for a quick chat before school or you can make an appointment to see us after school. There is also a box at the top of this page where you can contact us and we will get back to you within 48 hours.

Each week we will be posting an overview of our learning, so don’t forget to take a look at the exciting learning we are doing this term.
