    Fri 24 Feb 2023 Mr A

Welcome to this week's blog.  After the successful launch of the HB/HG podcast and my podcast on Reading, I thought I would record the blog.  This way you have the option of reading this on your phone, or listening to it whilst getting on with your busy life.  Listen to the blog via podcast, click here for the direct link.

I wanted to take a moment to update you on some exciting events that have been happening at school this week.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate the pupils of St Patrick and St George for earning enough housepoints to enjoy a dress-down day. It was wonderful to see so many bright and colourful outfits during the assembly today.

We also celebrated Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday, which are important dates in the Christian calendar. Father Roger came and spoke to the children about Lent and the importance of reflection and sacrifice during this time.

Additionally, we held our Maths Whiz competition, and I am pleased to announce that we have some incredibly talented mathematicians amongst us. Congratulations to all the winners!

We always strive to provide a well-rounded education for our pupils, and we are grateful for the opportunities to celebrate our diverse community and religious traditions. I hope that your children are enjoying their time at school and continue to grow in their knowledge and skills.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to updating you on more exciting events in the future.

Have a great half-term and stay safe.

Yesterday's Topic Celebration was a huge success, and it was wonderful to see all of you there. The children did a fantastic job showcasing their hard work and achievements, and it was great to see the pride on their faces. I would like to extend my thanks to all of the teachers who have worked tirelessly to make this event such a success.

Reduce Your Carbon Week has been a huge hit as well, and I would like to give a special shoutout to the ECO club for their hard work in arranging this event. The donations received have been outstanding, and I would like to thank Mrs. Harris for her efforts in helping the children to participate in this event every night after school.

We are looking for a parent representative to work with us on our OPAL project. The time commitment is minimal, but you would have the opportunity to meet with the team a few times a year to see how we are progressing with our action plan and building play areas. If you're interested, please don't hesitate to contact me for more information.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to Mrs Thompson for her efforts in writing to numerous companies and asking for donations for the school, to support OPAL. Your hard work and dedication are truly appreciated, and you are a star in our eyes.

As we break up for half-term, I hope you have a relaxing and rejuvenating week off.  We'll be back in school on Monday, 20th February, ready to continue our learning journey. Stay safe and have a great half-term!
