We have enjoyed the story "Once there were giants" and talked lots about the "giants" in our homes, what our homes are made of, drawn round and measured our feet, comparing them to the giant footprints that were decorated by some of our youngest children.  We thought about how materials are chosen for their suitability for the job, eg glass for windows to be able to see out of them.  There was a scavenger hunt to find materials with different properties, smooth/rough and we considered whether a chocolate teapot, paper wellington boots and a jelly chair would be the best materials!

This week we have remembered Robert Burns night through learning a Scottish Jig and Holocaust Memorial Day by learning to sing and sign "Somewhere over the rainbow."
