Reading
When the children are ready, they will be expected to read a decodable book for up to 10 minutes a day. Your child will receive a reading record book for you to record their progress daily. Please ensure the book and the reading record are in on a Monday and Thursday so books can be refreshed. We use the Sounds Write reading programme.
When your child has achieved 30 reads, they will visit Mr Allen and receive a prize. Please don't forget to read with and to your child too.
The children will be able to choose their own book for interest. We are not expecting the children to read these books independently, they are to share with the family and enjoy.
