*Welcome to our Year 6 Class Page!*

Welcome back to Term 5, Year 6! I hope you had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

As you know, this term is a busy one with SATs week taking place from Monday 13th May - Thursday 16th May. More information will follow regarding our Year 6 breakfast and the timetable of papers.

Whilst revising and preparing for our SATs, we will be continuing to practise our writing through sentence stacking and our topic sessions so that we can write for a range of different purposes. Our topic this term is called 'Guten Tag!' where we will be learning about Germany, both historically and geographically.

Take a look at the topic web below to find out what else we will be learning this term.

This term, PE will be every Tuesday but please ensure your trainers are in school each day for the Daily Mile.

Music lessons will be every Tuesday afternoon where you will continue to play the clarinet.

If you are enjoying using the different areas during break and lunch time, please remember to bring a change of footwear (wellies/old trainers) that is suitable for the forest and field areas - no doubt we will still experience lots of rain!

Maths Homework, Reading and Spelling

  • You will receive daily maths homework online through Doodle Maths. This will give you a personalised set of questions each day to work on as well as any assignments set related to our learning in class.
  • Spellings will go live on Doodle Spell each MONDAY with a spelling test the following MONDAY. Remember to practise your Spelling Bee spellings too which can be found below.
  • Reading at Chiseldon is so important; please read each night for a minimum of 20 minutes so that you are widening your knowledge of a variety of texts and vocabulary (and also building up to your 30 reads prize)! You can record this via the Boom Read app.

If you have any further questions, please contact me using the form at the top of the page.

Many thanks
