We have made it to the end of the term! Well done everyone for being in school and helping ensure our children get the best education. This week has been manic and I really enjoyed seeing so many of you at the Easter Bonnet Parade yesterday. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Today, we say goodbye to our cook, Miss Harris - thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication to creating such wonderful school meals over the last few years. We wish you all the very best in the future.
I would also like to say a big thank you to all the staff who always go above and beyond to ensure that our children receive the best, even during the turbulent times of the strikes.
Some of our Y5 pupils went to Haydonleigh Primary School this week and took part in a debating competition with our collaborative schools - well done to the four of you; you represented the school brilliantly 🥰

Happy St. Patrick's Day 🇮🇪 I wonder if they have won the house points this week?
Another amazing week here at Chiseldon - we had Creative Hut in school working with our children across Key Stage 2, where they were coding Lego Robotics. The children had plenty of fun.
After I sent the email out about parking on the corner, it seemed more people parked there than normal. Can I please ask that you do not park on the corner, on double yellow lines, across from the large gates we come through as this is where the vast majority of our children cross to come to school. It makes crossing that part of the road extremely dangerous - thank you for listening.
Please may I also remind you that we have a one-way system to make entering and exiting the school easier. Can you please come in via the large gates, where I stand, and exit through the small gate during drop off and pick up - again, thank you for listening.

The weeks are just flying by. This week we have seen snow arrive in Chiseldon and the children thoroughly enjoyed playing in the snow, which is vital for them to experience. This will help them grow in language skills and be able to write about the experiences they have encountered. Deciding to make 200 hot chocolates, however, was more of a challenge and sometimes, maybe I need things to filter through my mind 😂
This week we are working on our behaviour principles further so that our pupils are very clear about the behaviour we expect, from using their manners to walking down the corridor. Once we have updated this, we will send it out to you so that you know how we are doing this at school.

Welcome to this week's blog. Have you listened to my podcast on reading for fluency? During the podcast, you can listen to the head boy and head girl talk about their reading experience. Listen to it here
If you would rather listen to the blog than read it, you can do so here. In the recorded blog, you will be able to listen to the school choir sing one of the songs that we have been learning.
Our deputy head boy and deputy head girl, went live on Facebook as they interviewed two secondary school pupils about starting out and how they felt, you can see this on our Facebook page, or by clicking here
Thank you to every parent that came into school and shared stories with the classes. This was very kind of you and I know that the children really enjoyed themselves. One pupil told me that listening to the story had inspired him to write his own story - so thank you.
