    Fri 28 Apr 2023 Mr A

Another busy week in the life of the school and we are pleased at how well our children represent the school when they are out and about on school trips.  Nursery children went to Witchelstow and boarded a pirate ship as part of their topic.  They had so much fun and the school has been sent messages saying how wonderfully behaved our children are, especially when they were eating cakes in Waitrose.

A gentle reminder that in the mornings, can you please make sure that you come in through the large gates where Mr Hatcliffe and I are stood as we like to say good morning to every child as they start their school day.  This also helps with the flow of traffic, especially at the start of the day - thank you for your support in this, it is truly helpful.

    Welcome back!

I hope that you have had a wonderful Easter break and managed to have some quality family time.  It is a shame that we didn't experience a mini heatwave, but it was nice not to be in the routine of day-to-day schooling and spending time with family.

This week our Y5 pupils have been out all week on their residential to Call of the Wild, you can see what they have been up to.  In school, pupils have been working hard to kick-start the summer term.

I am delighted to say that we are taking part in Swinpup with other schools in Swindon.  We have our Swinpup who we have to decorate (see picture below).  Each class will be allocated an area and get to paint the Swinpup ready to be part of the Swinpup Trail.   I will be sending out more information about why we are doing this and the charity that we are going to try and raise £500 for - this is our target!  Details will come out next week.

I hope you have a great weekend, and Y5 parents, I do hope your children are not too tired after their fun week away.
