    Thu 26 May 2022 Mr A

Congratulations!  We have all made it to half term.  Yesterday was Thank a Teacher Day and I would like to say a big thank you to all the team at Chiseldon Primary & Nursery School for always going above and beyond for all the children in the school.  Your dedication to their learning is amazing, so thank you.

It is now half term and the weather is looking rather good - I hope you have some lovely activities planned for the week.  I have asked the children to read 3 times for the week off just to keep this ticking over.

    Congratulations!

I would like to say a huge congratulations to Year 5, who have been awarded the Top Doodling class, with 100% of the class being in the green zone all week for their learning - well done!

Year 5 & 6 team who went to the quad kids competition this week.  You should be very proud of yourselves for coming 5th as a team.  Well done to Ellie C for getting gold and being the best girl in the entire competition - well done.

    Fri 13 May 2022 Mr A

I love a Friday at school, there is always something different going on, and this Friday was no different.  The children smashed dressing up in their PJs and through your kind donations, we have raised £137.25 - well-done everyone.

This week, our Y6 pupils have worked extremely hard to sit their SATs tests, and they were delighted to have finished this week.  After two years of interrupted learning, they worked extremely hard and tried every paper - what more could we ask of our fantastic pupils.  I am so very proud to be your headteacher.

    Fri 06 May 2022 Mr A

Isn't it great having short weeks!  The weekend is here already and it looks like it is going to be a lovely weekend, weather-wise.

Just to remind you, as parents have asked this morning, the TD day is Monday 16th May.  This is for the school nurse to train all staff and we are looking at reading for fluency to make sure that we are providing the very best.

Clubs: thank you to all the teachers and support staff who are offering a club this term and T6.  This is to provide an extended curriculum and introduce children to different activities.  All clubs start on from Monday 9th May.

A note about attendance.  Headteachers are not allowed to authorise holidays during term time.  This is still the directive from the DfE.  Children will attendance lower than 90% are classed as persistently absent and could be subject to a fine from SBC.

    Next week...

Next week we see our Y6 pupils sit their SATs papers.  They are invited in early for breakfast and prepare them for the day ahead.  We try our utmost here at Chiseldon to take the pressure off and help them to relax.

Miss Ornov is also in to see the children from Ridgeway to start talking about transition - can you believe they only have a few weeks left here at Chiseldon.

On Wednesday 11th, Mr Hatcliffe has arranged a Dodgeball Festival and will be taking some of our Y5 children, look out for the letters shortly.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

    Mr A
