Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
I hope this newsletter finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share some updates from our school.
Firstly, I am thrilled to report that the start of our OPAL play program has been a great success. The children are really enjoying the different style of playtimes and we are seeing a lot of positive engagement and creativity - see them at play here
In other news, we would like to remind parents to book school dinners for the following week by Wednesday. This will ensure that we have enough meals prepared for all pupils.
Additionally, we would like to inform you that next week will be our parent/child meetings with teachers. You should be receiving invites via email, please make sure to check your junk mailbox if you do not see them in your inbox.
Lastly, we are excited to announce that we will have a tennis coach working with our Reception and Year 1 pupils. We believe this will be a great opportunity for the children to learn and improve their tennis skills.

Well done for being in school so regularly this week.
Whole school attendance is 93.5%, which is in line with national schools but slightly above in Swindon. Well done everyone, let us keep this % moving upward.
I hope you have a great weekend and we will see you all on Monday.
Mr A
I hope you are not too cold during this cold snap that we are having, the weather forecast for next week is 10 degrees so it will feel like summer haha.
Next week we are launching our new playtime and lunchtime programme, OPAL (Outdoor Play & Learning). You will receive an email with all the details and how this improves children's learning by having good playtime. In the email, there is a questionnaire about playtime, and I would be really grateful if you could complete this as quickly as possible, as it is important to us to have your thoughts too.
The children will complete their questionnaire during Computing lessons and talk through what they would like to see on the playground to enhance their play.

Just to remind you that the consultation around changing the Christmas holiday is still open. I have had some emails in talking about positives and negatives, so keep them coming as there are some good points that I hadn't thought about, so thank you.
I hope you have a great weekend.
Mr A
Welcome back. If I haven’t seen you this week, Happy New Year. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and an enjoyable break.
Swindon Borough Council has launched its attendance strategy and I will attach the booklet and send out in an email next week. This shows how we have to send letters out as pupils drop below certain percentages over a 12 week period.
If you have not seen your emails, please check as our club list went out this week and all clubs start next week, including our Friday clubs.

We have had some staff changes over the Christmas period. I ran out of time to tell you all before we broke up, so planned to include the information in my first blog.
Mrs Turay has left the nursery and we wish her all the very best in her new role. We are excited to announce that we welcome back Mrs Carter-Selwood, who will be the children’s key worker in nursery and will complete all reports and parent evenings. Mr Davis, Ms Perre and Miss Bennetta will still work in the nursery at different points.
We also welcome back full time Mrs Harris. She will now be Year 1’s class teacher full time, which will free up Mr Hatcliffe to concentrate on SEND interventions and completing his Deputy Headteacher role, including teaching swimming.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
