Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.

  • March 8th

    Tue 23 Feb 2021 Mr A

    Welcome to this week's update...

Hopefully you will have now had chance to see the roadmap back to school and the risk assessment that was promised ready for the reopening of the school on Monday 8th March.

Just to remind you that if you are coming on to the school site to drop your child/ren off, you will need to wear a face mask.

I am sure that you are very excited about returning to school and I thought this little clip would bring a smile to your face: Bye Bye

Just a little reminder that there will be no school next Friday 5th March - this includes online learning.  Children, staff, and parents can all relax and have an extended weekend before saying, bye bye 😽

Just a reminder: if you or anyone in your household have symptoms on or before Monday 8th March, you are not to bring them on to the school site.  You MUST book a test and let us know that you are not returning whilst you are waiting for test results.  It is imperative that we work together to make sure we all stay safe.  School staff have not had their injections yet, so we must protect our teachers and staff so that we can remain open and not have to close hubs.

Have a wonderful weekend - 4 teaching days to go - you can do this!

  • End of Term

    Wed 10 Feb 2021 Mr A

We have come to the end of a very challenging term.  Having to work at home and help your children learn must have been extremely hard going.  But as we draw the term to a close, you can be proud of what you all have achieved.

Staff, parents, children have all worked extremely hard to try and make sure that the learning gap has not widened and although, online learning is not the best, it is the best we can do at this moment in time.  When we look back at this time and reflect, we will be able to say that we all did the best for the children in our care, from headteachers, teachers, catering staff, cleaners, site manager, MDSAs, teaching assistants, office staff, parents and of course our wonderful children.

During the half term break, it is imperative that the children get some break from their screens as they have been spending too many hours in front of them.  Please make sure that they read at least one book and enjoy being children - albeit in lockdown.

The school reopens for our key worker and vulnerable children on Monday 22nd February.  I am hoping that I can welcome the remainder of the school back on Monday 8th March but I cannot guarantee that this will happen.  As soon as schools are given the two weeks notice to prepare to open, I will of course, write the risk assessment and let you all know what we are planning to do and how we are planning to make sure that the return is a safe one.

I hope that you all have a restful half-term.

  • Update before the final week of term

    Thu 04 Feb 2021 Mr A

Wow, another week has come to a close at school.

School is open and we are increasing the amount of pupils that we have in school - many for key workers, those who are needing extra support.

Thank you to all the parents that have contacted the school with best wishes and questions around the online learning.  Attendance is currently 96%, which is great.

As our pupils carry on with online learning, The Key, have released a quick and easy read for parents, titled, 'Fake News & Disinformation Online.'  This is to help parents safeguard their child/ren from believing fake news and making sure that they check the source - as we know, Facebook, is not reliable news.  It also helps parents think about radicalisation and spotting signs if your child is being targeted whilst online.  I hope you find it useful.  I have attached them as a photo.

I hope you have a good weekend

    Mr A
