APRIL 2025 SUMMER TERM!

We hope you had a Hip Hopping Easter Holidays, you enjoyed some much needed chocolate and sunshine!

I can't believe we are entering the summer terms!!!

As the weather is warming up, please can you make sure your child comes into Nursery dressed appropriately for the weather (and all the changes for a British Summer). They have sun cream on and extra in their bags a HAT and a WATER BOTTLE.

Here you can find out about all the things we will be doing and the links below will be updated weekly to share with family and friends.

We have put this list together to help with some queries:

Every day your child is in, please ensure they have:

  • A change of clothes
  • Nappies (if required)
  • Named water bottle containing water
  • Named wellies (which can stay at school)
  • Named coat, as our weather is so changeable
  • House badge to be pinned on securely

No PE kit is required in Nursery.

Hot dinners need to be ordered in advance.  Please talk to your child about what they would like to eat so that they know what to expect at lunchtime.  Menus are available in the Parents' tab.

We start our day when we say “see you later” to our families and join our friends with our active morning activity, these will range from Squiggle while you Wiggle to yoga and everything inbetween. Our morning activity energizes us and puts us in a great mood for the rest of the day! We’ll have some learning time on the carpet as a whole class, group work with an adult, individual choosing when we can enjoy activities in the garden, express ourselves in the role play area, and be creative in our arts area.

We’ll join the rest of the school for morning play on the playground when we will have a snack and drink.  If staying all day, we’ll have either a hot dinner or a packed lunch in the hall, followed by play with the rest of the school.

Sounds Write is when we will be learning phonemes to help us read plus beginning to distinguish between different sounds in our environment. Be prepared to hear lots of nursery rhymes, songs and stories as the children will want to share with you!

This term's topic is I WONDER WHERE??? We are going to be exploring where they live, other countries around the world, different environments and how to travel there.  By using a range of texts the children will experience different ways of life, how to navigate non-fiction, including an atlas, and find answers to questions about different places

Please take a look at our Topic Overview at the bottom of the page to get a more detailed insight to our learning this term.

If you have any questions or queries please see me at the door or feel free to use the contact the class teacher section on this page and we will get back to you within 48 hours.

We are really looking forward to this term!!!
