We are committed to fostering a nurturing environment where every pupil, including those with SEND, can thrive. Our implementation of the My Happy Mind approach empowers pupils to understand their brains and emotional well-being, equipping them with essential tools to navigate their learning journeys. By integrating neuroscience into our curriculum, we help pupils grasp how their brains work, promoting self-awareness and resilience. This understanding not only enhances their learning experiences but also cultivates a positive mindset that encourages them to embrace challenges and develop a love for learning.

The My Happy Mind approach is designed to ensure that all pupils can access high-quality learning tailored to their individual needs. Through engaging activities and discussions, we encourage pupils to explore their emotions, build confidence, and develop effective strategies for managing stress and anxiety. Our dedicated staff are trained to adapt lessons and support mechanisms, ensuring that every pupil, regardless of their background or learning requirements, can participate fully in the classroom. By prioritising mental well-being alongside academic achievement, we create a holistic learning environment where all pupils can flourish and reach their full potential.

We are proud to announce that we are a myHappymind Bronze Accredited school!

This means that as a school we consider the mental health and wellbeing of our children as one of our top priorities. We have created a whole school culture that helps build our children's resilience, confidence and self esteem as well as teaching them how to self regulate in those stressful times.

This Accreditation badge has been awarded thanks to all the effort our staff, children, governors and parents have put in to bring the lessons of myHappymind to life all around our school!

We embrace the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) initiative to enhance play and enrich our curriculum. OPAL focuses on providing pupils with high-quality outdoor play opportunities that foster creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. By transforming our outdoor spaces into engaging play environments, we encourage pupils to explore, take risks, and develop their social skills in a safe and supportive setting.

The integration of OPAL into our curriculum not only promotes physical well-being but also supports holistic development. Through unstructured play, pupils learn to negotiate, communicate, and resolve conflicts, which are essential skills for their overall growth. By prioritising outdoor play, we create a vibrant learning atmosphere where pupils can thrive, ensuring that their school experience is both enjoyable and educational.

My Happy Mind Testimonial

Good morning Mr Allen,

I just wanted to say what a fantastic programme this is, Olivia has been telling us all about the hippocampus, including what it does and where it is! It gave us a good laugh when she brought it up at the dinner table the other night.

Kind regards,

Dan M
