Celebrating a Fabulous Week at School
19-06-2026Transitions, Triumphs and Terrific Assemblies
After the exceptionally warm weather and the additional days away from school, it has been wonderful to welcome everyone back this week. The cooler temperatures certainly helped, and it was fantastic to see the children return refreshed, enthusiastic and ready to learn. As always, our pupils have continued to demonstrate our HEART values through their positive attitudes, resilience and enthusiasm in the classroom.
The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the start of our Transition Days. Across the school, children had the opportunity to spend the day in their new classrooms with the teachers who will be welcoming them in September. It was lovely to see so much excitement as pupils began getting to know their new learning environments, took part in fun activities and try something new as part of the day. Transition Day is always an important milestone, helping children feel confident and excited about the year ahead.
Our Year 6 pupils also enjoyed visiting their new secondary schools this week. They experienced a full day in their new settings, giving them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with their surroundings, meet new teachers and classmates, and begin preparing for the next stage of their educational journey. We know that moving to secondary school is a significant step, and we are proud of how maturely and confidently they embraced this exciting experience.
This week we were also treated to two fantastic class assemblies from Nursery and Year 1. Both classes showcased the wonderful learning they have been doing throughout the past term, sharing their knowledge and achievements in a variety of creative ways. It was a pleasure to see the children's confidence shine as they spoke, performed and presented to parents, carers and the rest of the school community. A huge well done to all the children and staff involved for such enjoyable and memorable assemblies.
Next week will be a busy one with our reward trips taking place across the school. These are always a wonderful way to celebrate the children's hard work, positive behaviour and commitment throughout the year. Letters containing all the relevant information have been sent home, so please take a moment to check these carefully to ensure your child is fully prepared for their trip.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support throughout another busy week. We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to sharing more exciting memories as we head towards the end of another successful school year.
