Celebrating a Fabulous Week at School
01-05-2026Exploring Our Community and Aiming High at Chiseldon
It has been another busy and exciting week at Chiseldon, with plenty of wonderful learning both inside and outside the classroom.
Our EYFS children enjoyed a lovely walk around the local community as part of their learning about the world around them. They explored what can be found in our local area, spotting the park, the shop and the river along the way. The children also collected natural items during their walk, ready to use back in school to create their own map of the local area. What a fantastic way to bring learning to life through real experiences.
Year 6 are working incredibly hard as they continue their SATs revision in preparation for SATs week, beginning on 11th May. We are so proud of their determination, resilience and positive attitude as they approach this important milestone. We know they will do themselves proud.
Our Golden Wellies award this week went to a group of boys from Years 3, 4 and 5, who showed wonderful creativity and teamwork by designing and building amphibious vehicles using the loose parts area. Their imagination, problem-solving and collaboration were fantastic to see.
In PE, our cricket focus this week has been bowling with precision. Pupils have taken part in a range of fun and active games using wickets and cones, aiming to land the ball accurately within target areas to score points. Fast-paced wicket keeper rotations kept everyone involved and ensured lots of energy, movement and smiles throughout the sessions.
Wishing all our Chiseldon families a wonderful bank holiday weekend ahead. We hope you enjoy some family time together and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another fantastic week of learning.
