Celebrating a Fabulous Week at School
15-05-2026Calm, Concentration and Crispy Bacon
Wow — what a week!
First of all, a huge well done to our Year 6 pupils. You tackled your SATs with rigour, determination and a healthy dose of good humour. There were moments of concentration, moments of camaraderie, and, of course, the daily bacon sandwich which, I’m convinced, should be added to the national curriculum as an essential lifesaving strategy. You made a nerve-wracking week feel calm and composed — I couldn’t be prouder to be your headteacher.
Thank you, too, to every pupil across the school. You were thoughtful and respectful of Year 6, keeping noise to a minimum and showing the kind of community spirit that makes Chiseldon such a special place. Little acts like that — holding a door, a quiet hallway, a smile in the playground — are what our HEART values look like in action: Honesty, Equality, Accountability, Respect and Trust.
A few quick reminders for next week, which is the final week of term: as always, there will be no Friday clubs and school will finish at 13:00 on Friday. If you need childcare, our after-school care will be running as usual until its normal finish time.
Enjoy the weekend: rest, recharge and maybe practise making the perfect bacon sandwich — you never know when that skill might come in handy. See you Monday!
