Celebrating a Fabulous Week at School

From Cricket to Creativity: Chiseldon’s Week in Action

Well, what a week it’s been! It feels like we’ve packed a whole term’s worth of excitement into just a few days. From indoor cricket battles (don’t worry, no broken windows!) to thoughtful reflections on Holocaust Memorial Day, our pupils have been busy enriching their minds and hearts.

Upper KS2 enjoyed a fantastic day at the STEAM Museum in Swindon – a brilliant way to bring their learning to life beyond the classroom! Meanwhile, Year 3 took to the stage with their class assembly, showing off their star quality (and maybe a few nerves too, but they were brilliant). Year 4 had a special visit from a real-life engineer – who knew learning could be so hands-on and inspiring?

And speaking of play, OPAL play is still going strong here at Chiseldon. Our children are lucky ducks to enjoy an hour and a half of playtime every day. We truly believe that play is the secret sauce for creativity and learning – plus, it’s just plain fun!

As you know, our HEART values are at the core of everything we do. January’s focus is on Trust, and we’ve been spotting so many pupils showing this important value. At the end of each month, we pop the names into a jar and pick a lucky winner in assembly. The prize? They get to build a Lego set that proudly takes pride of place in our reception area. If anyone has a Lego set to donate, we’d be thrilled – our little builders are always ready for a new challenge!

Looking ahead, Year 5 will be completing their assessments next week. It’s super important that they’re in school every day and on time to give their best. We appreciate your support in helping them shine.

Thanks for being part of our wonderful school community. Here’s to another great week ahead!
