Celebrating a Fabulous Week at School

Bonnets, Books, and Breaks: Wrapping Up a Wonderful Term

Well, we’ve done it again – another term completed! As we break today for the Easter holiday, I hope you all enjoy a wonderful two-week break filled with family, friends, and the blissful absence of any schedules. Yes, that’s right, no alarms, no packed lunches, just pure, unadulterated freedom (well, until the school run starts again, anyway!).

Today, we say a fond farewell to Mr Habbitts, who has been absolutely instrumental in supporting our EYFS team while Mrs Matthews and Mrs Cater-Selwood enjoyed their maternity leaves (and hopefully some well-earned rest!). We’ll miss you, Mr Habbitts, but we’re excited to welcome back Mrs Matthews when we return – EYFS is in great hands!

We also bid goodbye and good luck to Miss Bownes, who has decided to spread her wings beyond Chiseldon. We thank her for all her hard work and wish her every success. Stepping into her shoes is Mr Page, who will be taking over teaching and learning in Year 5. Welcome aboard, Mr Page – we’re looking forward to having you with us!

This week has been nothing short of fantastic. We’ve celebrated Shakespeare Week with style – and I must say, those costumes were nothing short of spectacular. If Shakespeare were here, I’m sure he’d be impressed (and maybe a little jealous of our pupils’ flair!).

Our children also made a spiritual visit to the church for Easter, took part in the ever-joyful Easter Bonnet Parade, and danced their hearts out at the Easter disco. Not to mention, our Spelling Bee was buzzing with excitement – huge congratulations to everyone who took part and to all our brilliant winners. And let’s not forget Year 3’s cinema trip – popcorn and all!

What a way to end the term – full of fun, learning, and community spirit. Here’s to a restful Easter break for all. Enjoy every moment, and we’ll see you refreshed and ready for the next chapter!
