HEART in Action: Cricket, Goals and SATs Prep
What a joy to be back on the gate on Wednesday — thank you for all the smiles, waves and cheerful hellos. It really is the best part of the day: seeing our pupils arrive bright-eyed, ready to learn and full of the kind of curiosity that makes classrooms hum. It felt wonderful to be part of that buzz again and to catch up with so many of you.
Cricket is swinging along brilliantly this term and KS2 are absolutely loving having an external coach in school. There’s been terrific batting, brilliant teamwork and the odd tumble that is followed immediately by a grin and a thumbs-up. It’s been lovely to see pupils practising new skills and cheering one another on — all very much in the spirit of HEART.
Huge congratulations to our football team who beat Wanborough 1–0. What a match! Goal, determination and teamwork — you were all stars on the pitch and we’re very proud of you.
Next week our Year 6 pupils begin their SATs — the final assessment papers in primary school. To every Year 6 pupil: we wish you the very best. You have worked hard to get ready, and we know you will do remarkably well. Try to relax, read each question carefully and remember that your teachers and school are behind you every step of the way. Take a deep breath when you need it and don’t forget to be kind to yourselves. Please enjoy the weekend. Rest, have fun and recharge those batteries. We look forward to seeing you on Monday morning for bacon baps — a friendly breakfast and smiling faces are the perfect way to start the week.
