Celebrating a Fabulous Week at School

Creativity, Confidence & HEART!
It has been another really positive week at Chiseldon as we have continued to settle into our school routines and, already, we are seeing some pretty impressive learning taking place across the school.
One of the highlights this week has been the incredible writing I have seen coming from our pupils. We have had so many proud learners coming to share their work with us, and it has been fantastic to see the excitement and confidence they have in their own writing. The Mystery Box Write has been a particular highlight, providing children with the opportunity to let their imaginations run wild. We have seen some wonderfully creative ideas, ambitious vocabulary and imaginative storylines, with pupils demonstrating real skill and creative flair in their writing. It is always a pleasure to see children so proud of what they have achieved — and even better when they can't wait to share it!
Year 6 have continued with their swimming sessions this week, working in their groups to develop and refine their skills. It has been great to see growing confidence across all of the groups, alongside a real determination to improve and perfect the particular focus of each session. The children are responding brilliantly to feedback and showing that perseverance and resilience really do make a difference when learning a new skill.
Our new school lunch arrangements are also continuing to prove very positive. The children are settling into the new routines well and are enjoying the opportunity to sit at their chosen tables and engage in conversations with their friends while they eat. It has been particularly lovely to see how quickly our younger pupils are developing their independence. They are becoming increasingly confident with the lunchtime routines, managing their meals and, importantly, taking responsibility for carrying their trays to the cleaning station once they have finished.
These may seem like small steps, but they are important moments in developing independence, responsibility and confidence in our pupils. Seeing our children take ownership of these routines is another great example of our HEART values being lived out in everyday school life.
As we continue into the term, it is wonderful to see such a positive atmosphere across the school. From creative writing and swimming to becoming more independent at lunchtime, our children are making a fantastic start and showing us that they are ready to learn, challenge themselves and grow.
