Sunny Days and Playtime Joy: OPAL in Full Swing at Chiseldon
What a glorious week at Chiseldon! The sun put in an appearance, OPAL is in full swing and the playgrounds have been buzzing with imagination — pupils inventing games, sharing giggles and enjoying their lunches outside under the shelter. It has been such a pleasure to see friendships blossom through play and to hear the excited chatter as children try out new ideas together.
On Thursday 23rd April we joined schools around the country for Schools Cricket Day to mark 50 days until the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Pupils had a ball practising catching and fielding and finishing with lively little matches — the teamwork, cheering and genuine delight made for a brilliant atmosphere. Year 4 enjoyed a fascinating behind-the-scenes visit to Nando’s, watching how food is prepared and learning about kitchen hygiene and safety; they came back with wide eyes and lots to talk about. Year 5 had an action-packed residential at Plas Pencelli with Miss Cheesley and Mr Ryan — water, challenges, laughter and memories galore — and we’ve shared the best photos and videos on the school Facebook group so families can smile along with us.
Wishing all our Chiseldon families a sunny, restful weekend — get outside, keep playing and share any holiday adventures with us when you’re back.
