Celebrating a Fabulous Week at School

Learning, Laughing & Living Our Values!

What a fantastic first full week back at Chiseldon!

After the excitement of returning to school and settling into new classes, it has been wonderful to see the children fully immersed in their learning, embracing new challenges and demonstrating our HEART values throughout the week.

Monday got the week off to a particularly smart start, as everyone arrived looking their very best for our school photographs. It was lovely to see the children dressed so smartly and ready to capture some important memories from their time at Chiseldon. Individual, sibling and class photographs were all taken, providing families with those special moments to look back on in years to come. A big thank you to everyone for making sure the children looked so fantastic!

Year 6 have also started their swimming sessions this week. They certainly made an excellent first impression, with the swimming instructor commenting on their fantastic technique, form and strength in the water. The children worked hard to develop their strokes and improve their speed, while also taking part in some fun competitive games in pairs. These activities provided a great opportunity to practise their technique while developing teamwork, determination and a little healthy competition!

We were delighted to welcome Father Roger into school this week to help us begin our new school year with a thoughtful Christian story focusing on honesty. This was particularly fitting as Honesty is our value of the term. The story gave the children plenty to think about and provided a great opportunity to discuss why being truthful, trustworthy and honest is so important in our everyday lives. We look forward to exploring this value further over the coming weeks and seeing our children put it into action across the school.

Year 5 enjoyed an exciting opportunity this week as they travelled to Marlborough Cricket Club to support the filming of a promotional video for Chance to Shine in Wiltshire. It was fantastic for the children to be involved in showcasing the opportunities that cricket can provide for young people and to experience something a little different from the usual school day. We are very proud of how positively they represented Chiseldon and embraced the experience.

It has been a busy but very positive start to the new school year, and it is already wonderful to see the children growing in confidence, making new memories and getting stuck into everything school has to offer.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to another exciting week of learning, laughter and living out our HEART values together.Have a wonderful weekend!
