Safeguarding at Chiseldon Primary & Nursery School

At Chiseldon Primary & Nursery School, the safety and well-being of every pupil is our highest priority. Our safeguarding page is dedicated to keeping children, parents, carers, and the local community informed and engaged in promoting a safe and nurturing environment for all.

Here, you will find up-to-date information on our safeguarding policies, procedures, and the support systems we have in place to protect pupils from harm, both within school and beyond. We share resources and activities designed to help pupils understand how to stay safe, including online safety, personal well-being, and recognising risks.

Our commitment to safeguarding is rooted in our core values of Honesty, Equality, Accountability, Respect, and Trust—the HEART of Chiseldon. We work closely with local safeguarding partners and agencies to ensure timely support and intervention where needed.

We encourage parents and carers to explore this page regularly to stay informed about safeguarding initiatives and how you can support your child’s safety and well-being. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Together, we create a safe, supportive community where every pupil can thrive.

Swindon Borough Council are working in a different way with families across Swindon to help keep children safe at home and families together.

They recognise that families often face challenges that make parenting difficult, which is why support from social workers is sometimes needed. However, they also believe that every family has strengths.

Their work helps families to recognise and build upon these strengths, enabling them to make positive changes that improve their lives and the lives of their children, so they can remain together.

Their way of working is called the Family Safeguarding Model.

My Happy Mind Testimonial

Good morning Mr Allen,

I just wanted to say what a fantastic programme this is, Olivia has been telling us all about the hippocampus, including what it does and where it is! It gave us a good laugh when she brought it up at the dinner table the other night.

Kind regards,

Dan M
