What an excellent first week back!

This week;

  • In Maths we have been looking at 3-digit numbers and the value of each digit. 
  • In English we have been looking at what a biography is and the different shapes we need to create one.
  • In Book Talk we have been making predictions about our text 'The Iron Man' based on the front cover.
  • In Science we have been looking at what humans eat.
  • In Topic we have been looking at what storyboards are and why they are important for film-making.
  • In RE we have been looking at special groups such as charities and how they help the world.
  • In German we have been looking at different sports. 
  • In Music we have been looking at music appreciation for Tchaikovsky's March of the flowers.

  • In English we have been learning about the life of Grace Darling for our biography.
  • In Maths we have been partitioning 3-digit numbers and writing them as words.
  • In Book Talk we have been reading chapter 1 of 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes and making prediction about what will happen next.
  • In Science we have been looking at what we need for a balanced diet.
  • In Topic we have been creating detailed storyboards.
  • In RE we have been looking at the Hindu story of Rama and Sita.
  • In Computing we have been looking at how digital devices work. 
  • In Music we have been looking at notation and how to read the notes on a treble stave.

Oracy

  • Hideous - Extremely Ugly.
  • Monstrous - Extremely ugly or large.
  • Carbohydrate - The body's main source of energy, in foods such as bread, rice, potatoes and fruit.
  • Protein - The nutrient in foods such as meat, eggs, nuts, fish and beans that helps our bodies to grow.

  • For European Day of Languages we learned all about Spain, including learning some of the language and trying some Spanish food.

  • In PE we have been exploring invasion games, such as capture the flag.
  • In Music we have been starting to learn how to play a recorder focusing on the note B.
