We had a fun lesson looking back at old aerial photographs of Chiseldon with the children who live in the village looking to see if they could find their home. For those who live outside of the village we used my good friend Google Maps to find where they live and look at how close to the school we all live.
After this we then drew the footprint of the school as it is today with the children deciding on their own key for the map.
In Science we looked at how plants are able to self germinate and finished filling in our tables regarding own bean seeds who have grown to the point they are now home with the children.
In Maths we discovered the many types of lines found in 2D and 3D shapes which will continue in to next week.
This weeks spellings:
Words with a /k/
sound spelt with
Y1 EC 1
The class have really impressed me again with their commitment to their times tables as we are nearly all secure with the 3x table out of sequence and are making great progress with the 4x table.
