Weekly Learning 17.1.2022

The children worked especially hard this week and I am very proud of the effort they put into their learning!

 

We wrote a persuasive holiday brochure for people visiting Skara Brae.  The class planned their brochure after sentence stacking and they really thought about the features needed to meet the criteria for a holiday brochure.  We are now moving onto writing an explanation, another non-fiction unit.

 

We investigated how plants transport water this week during science.  The class made predictions and then carried out an investigation involving coloured water and celery.  Ask your child if they prediction was correct!

 

In geography we looked at the key found on OS Maps ready for our fieldwork trip around Chiseldon.  We spoke about how the symbols are universal and once learnt they will be able to read maps of any countries they visit.

In maths we have been looking at division during our working wall sessions on Tuesday and Thursday.  The class realised that division is easier when you know your times tables and so have been focusing on those aswell.
