Well done Year 5 - we have finally won the Attendance Cup (much to our own surprise)! Also well done to our 2 Stars of the Week for fantastic descriptive writing and positive attitude to learning - now keep it up!
Where did the week go? We have finished our short division work and enjoyed finding remainders and representing them as either decimals or fractions. Next week we will begin our work on fractions. We have continued writing chunks of our Highwayman Narrative Poems and read further along in Holes. This book is clearly being enjoyed as there has been a frenzy to answer the questions in Holes - fantastic work! We have learnt about the journey of a river from its source to its mouth and everything in between and even explored water as a theme in PE dance. In RE we have been looking at destiny and whether Jesus' crucifixion was always part of God's plan for His son. This drew some interesting ideas. It was also World Book Day this week and we had many different characters in the class then we used these as our stimulus for our Assessed Write.
Next week we will be preparing for our trip to Ridgeway School for the Primary Science Festival on Wednesday - the theme is Our Diverse Planet and we will be looking at Climate Change.
