Week beginning 19.11.18

We have been lucky enough to start learning Fencing this week (for 2 sessions over this and next week) to support the British Heart Foundation's drive to raise fitness levels in children.  Some of the children have already tried this sport and were very enthusiastic to revisit their skills.  Have a look at the photos and short video clips of us in action!

We also finished our division work and began adding fractions with the same denominator, then with different denominators.  To help us remember what to do, we learnt a rule, "whatever you do to the bottom you do to the top and whatever you do to the top, you do to the bottom!" This has certainly helped us to calculate.

We are nearing the end of our English Unit, A Monster Calls and are looking forward to writing our own 'Monster' stories next week.  In additon to this, we have looked at art work in World War 1 which was commissioned by the government to support the war effort both home and on the front.

Stars of the Week

Congratulations also go to our Stars of the Week, Lillia and Lewis for fantastic work in Maths (division withe remainders as decimals) and English (fantastic ideas in writing and beautiful presentation of work).  Well done to both of you!
