Week Beginning 15.11.2021

We are all enjoying this terms topic and the many new facts found out this week.  We learned that due to the end of the last ice age the land we know as Great Britain was once joined to main land Europe and man could walk across to France!  We also completed our Science investigation where the class tested rocks to find out whether they were impermeable or permeable.  The children really enjoyed thinking about how to conduct a fair test and then once they had tested the rocks what that meant and drawing conclusions from their findings.

In German we have began to learn a song about the colours of the rainbow after we can now all say what our own favourite colour is.

Our spellings this week are:

Creating adverbs

using the suffix -ly

(root word ends in

‘ic’ or ‘al’)

basically

frantically

dramatically

magically

tragically

comically

actually

accidentally

occasionally

eventually

The suffixes –less and –ly

Badly, lovely, quickly.

Actually

Accidentally

occasionally

The children are working really hard with their weekly spellings and I am so pleased to see them using the words in our learning.

Times tables are also checked weekly with the 3x table being our focus times table.  Don't forget to practice and that we are subscribed to TT Rockstars online.  If you do not have your login please ask.
