This week saw the launch of our new topic the Stone Age. We got up to lots of activities on our first day, including looking at cave paintings and how they were made.
We also explored how the numbering system works in prehistoric times - the larger the BC number, the further back in time it happened! We ordered key events on a human time line of the Stone Age to Iron Age.
We looked at three early humans, Homo Heidelbergenesis, Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens. We compared facial features to the way we look today and completed observational drawings from the images. The children created a gallery of their artwork and gave each member of the class positive feedback on an aspect of their drawing.
