Have a go at estimating - take a handful of objects - toys, pasta, pebbles - and estimate how many are there. Count them out and see how close you were. The more you practise, the closer you'll get.
"Children who are good at reading do more of it: they learn more, about all sorts of things, and their expanded vocabulary, gained from their reading, increases their ease of access to more reading." The Reading Framework, OFSTED
Please encourage the children to share their books every day. The children should be reading decodable words independently, but they will need help with some high frequency words (HFW). Please sign the reading record or visit parents.goapps.app to confirm what has been read. Reading books should be returned for changing on Mondays and Thursdays. Remember to work towards 30 reads.
Library books are purely for pleasure - they are changed on Mondays.
