Fish Eye pictures for self portraits

We've had a busy first week in Year Five. Our first trumpet lesson went very well and Lori was very pleased with how quickly they picked it up.

In Maths we have been looking at Place Value and have added in numbers to 10,000 so far.

In English we have started our narrative based on the film and picture 'The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore' we have managed to include fronted adverbials, personification and similes.

Our Escher art has progressed well and we are ready to paint our self portraits based on the Hand with reflecting sphere.  We used a fish eye lens to help us - we will share all the self portraits and photos during our art exhibition at the end of term.

As well as all that, we have had had PE (Netball) whole school assembly's, RE and RSHE lessons.

ANd we finally ended the week with a Mystery Box write and sharing assembly.  My Stars of the week were Laila Hambidge for working independently with her Place Value in Maths and Charlie Fowler for some excellent Sentence Stacking work in English, which resulted in him getting his first ever sentence onto the Sentence Stacking wall in the classroom.

Well done everyone for completing their homework and for those that have read every day.
