A warm welcome back to all our children in Pegasus class. We hope you had a lovely time over half term.
This week we have been learning about Diwali, the festival of lights. The children used their fine motor skills to colour and decorate some beautiful rangoli patterns and diva lamps. We went on an adventure and explored our forest area, noticing changes around us and enjoying the lovely colours. Children collected some autumn leaves to bring back to our investigation station.
In preparation for bonfire night we have been talking about fire safety, looking at fire stations and making some colourful firework pictures using paint and toilet rolls.
In PE we have been using our gross motor skills to move to music, the children enjoyed some freestyle dancing at the end of the session - please see the Chiseldon Facebook page! We enjoyed making shapes and movements with scarves in "Squiggle while you wiggle" our gross motor time to aid letter formation, it was great fun!
In book talk we have read Jack and the Beanstalk, the children were very good at retelling the story. Our new value this month is equality; we talked about treating everybody fairly and with kindness.
Have a lovely weekend and stay safe if out enjoying bonfire night.
