W/C -  10/01/22

Well done year 2 on another amazing week and well done for all the lovely reading I have been seeing on the app!

This week in Phonics we have been looking at the ar sound. Our spellings this week are linked to the sound - Palm, calm, laugh, smart, start, star, car, rather, master and father.

In English this week we have been planning and writing our very own recounts. They have all worked so hard and the work produced has been amazing to read, well done everyone! In Maths we have been recapping addition and subtraction with two digit numbers. Everyone has worked really hard at this even when the numbers seemed scary. They have also been ensuring that they show their workings out when calculating the answers.

In Geography we have been consolidating our learning on the oceans, I know a lot of year 2 can sing our ocean song off by heart! If you want to recap the oceans at home the link is - youtube.com/watch?v=X6BE4VcYngQ

In science we have been learning all about the seven essentials to classify something as living. We have also looked at what makes something not a living thing or something that has never lived.

Well done year 2 you have worked really hard this week!
