We understand that loss can profoundly impact our pupils, whether it involves the passing of a pet, parent, friend, or relative. To support our pupils in navigating their feelings of grief and remembrance, we have introduced the "Letters to Heaven" approach. This compassionate initiative provides a safe and nurturing space for pupils to express their emotions and memories through writing. Pupils are encouraged to write letters to their loved ones who have passed away, sharing their thoughts, feelings, and cherished memories and these are sent to Heaven every Friday.
The "Letters to Heaven" initiative not only fosters emotional expression but also promotes healing and connection. By writing these letters, pupils can articulate their grief in a constructive way, helping them to process their feelings and find comfort in their memories. Once completed, the letters are collected and symbolically sent to Heaven, allowing pupils to feel a sense of closure and connection with their loved ones. Our dedicated staff are trained to provide support and guidance throughout this process, ensuring that every pupil feels heard and valued. Through this initiative, we aim to cultivate resilience and emotional well-being, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing the whole child during challenging times.
Good morning Mr Allen,
I just wanted to say what a fantastic programme this is, Olivia has been telling us all about the hippocampus, including what it does and where it is! It gave us a good laugh when she brought it up at the dinner table the other night.
Kind regards,
Dan M
