Headteacher’s Blog – Welcome to Week 2 at Chiseldon Primary & Nursery School

Welcome to Week 2 of the new school year! It has been a fantastic start, with our KS2 pupils having loads of fun exploring robotics and making paper planes fly across the hall. These hands-on learning experiences really bring our curriculum to life and inspire curiosity and creativity.

A big thank you to all the parents who attended the Meet the Teacher evening. Your involvement is invaluable in helping us share the new expectations for each year group, ensuring we work together to support your child’s learning journey.

Stars of the Week

  • EYFS: Luna & Pippa
  • Year 1: Elsie & La'Rosa
  • Year 2: Ronnie & Willow
  • Year 3: Riley-Jay & Travis
  • Year 4: Imogen & Skyla

House Points and Attendance

The winning house this week, with an impressive 224 points, is St. David – congratulations to all pupils in that house! Top house point winners are:

  • St. Patrick: Ben S
  • St. George: Piper F
  • St. Andrew: Ted I
  • St. David: Arla DS

Attendance is vital for your child’s learning and wellbeing. The winning class this week with 100% attendance is Year 3 – well done for being in school every day! Whole school attendance currently stands at 94.92%. Let’s keep improving this together and make every day count.

Looking Ahead

Next week, Year 6 will have their assessment week. This helps us identify what pupils need to focus on throughout the term to ensure continued progress. We also have our first football match of the season on Monday after school here at Chiseldon – we look forward to seeing you there to support our team!

Finally, there is still time to share your views on the homework consultation currently taking place. Your feedback is important to us as we strive to provide the best learning experience for all pupils.

Thank you for your continued support.
