What a fantastic term we've had! As we wrap up for the half-term break, I'm delighted to share some of the wonderful happenings and achievements from our school.

This morning, we were treated to a brilliant celebration of talent with our 'Chiseldon's Got Talent' event. I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our governors, Mr Leighfield and Mrs Jefferies, for joining me on the judging panel. It was an absolute joy to watch all our talented pupils perform, and I must say, we had so much fun! The creativity, confidence, and enthusiasm displayed by our young performers were truly inspiring.

As we reflect on the term, it's clear that our pupils have settled back into their learning routines remarkably well. Despite the packed schedule, they've shown great resilience and dedication to their studies. It's been wonderful to see their progress and engagement across all areas of the curriculum.

I'm thrilled to announce that our Doodle certificates and trophies have arrived! Today, we had the pleasure of celebrating the incredible achievements of pupils who have maintained impressive streaks in both Doodle Maths and Doodle Spell. We recognised those who reached milestones of 50, 100, 250, 365, and even 500-day streaks. The commitment and consistency demonstrated by these pupils are truly commendable.

But the excitement doesn't stop there! I've received emails about children who have surpassed the 750-day mark - an extraordinary feat indeed. Now, we're all eagerly anticipating our first pupil to reach the next milestone: a 1000-day streak. Who will be the first to claim this impressive achievement? The anticipation is building, and I can't wait to see who will reach this remarkable goal first.

I'm also delighted to share some fantastic news about our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme. We've been awarded the Platinum Award, placing us among the top 2% of schools nationally for our commitment to enhancing playtime experiences. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire school community. However, rest assured that we're not resting on our laurels. We're continuing to improve and expand our outdoor play facilities, with plans for a new sandpit and water area in the pipeline for this academic year.

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Ms Perre, Mr Timlin, Mr Hatcliffe, and Mr Leighfield for their tireless efforts in making our OPAL programme such a success. Their commitment to improving the playtime experience for all our pupils is truly commendable and has a direct, positive impact on our children's wellbeing and development.

As we close this chapter of the term, I'd like to remind everyone that we break for half term today. Our first day back will be Monday 4th November. I hope this break provides an opportunity for rest, relaxation, and quality time with family and friends.

I'm incredibly proud of all that we've accomplished this term. From the talent on display in our performances to the dedication shown in academic pursuits and the improvements in our play areas, it's clear that Chiseldon Primary & Nursery School is a vibrant, thriving community of learners.

Have a wonderful half-term break, everyone. I look forward to welcoming you all back, refreshed and ready for another exciting chapter in our school year.
