What a wonderful week we've had at school! It's been a time of celebration, learning, and coming together as a community. I'm thrilled to share with you some of the highlights that have made this week so special.
Our pupils have been exploring the rich tapestry of religious and cultural celebrations that make our world so diverse and fascinating. We've begun learning about Ramadan, a significant observance for some of our pupils and their families. It's been heartening to see our children engage with this important celebration, fostering understanding and respect for different traditions.
In the spirit of inclusivity, we've also marked Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. These occasions have provided valuable opportunities for our pupils to learn about different customs and their meanings. We were particularly fortunate to welcome Father Roger from our local church, who visited on Wednesday to speak with our children. His presence added depth to our discussions and helped bring these traditions to life for our pupils.
World Book Day was a resounding success, and I must extend my heartfelt thanks to all our parents for their incredible support. The creative words and costumes that our pupils arrived in were truly impressive. Your efforts not only made the day memorable but have also significantly contributed to our ongoing Oracy project. I'm delighted to share that this initiative now runs seamlessly from EYFS all the way through to Year 6, helping to develop our pupils' communication skills across all age groups.
Our commitment to recognising and celebrating achievement remains strong. A big well done to all our stars of the week, top doodlers, and housepoint winners. Your hard work and dedication are truly inspiring. I encourage everyone to check the list below to see who has achieved these accolades this week.
The golden boot award continues to motivate our pupils, encouraging active participation and engagement. Ms Perre has been keeping a keen eye out for those who are fully embracing our OPAL play initiative. It's wonderful to see so many of our pupils enthusiastically involved in this programme, which promotes creative and active playtimes.
As we reflect on this week, I'm reminded of the vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community we have here at Chiseldon Primary & Nursery School. From exploring different cultures and religions to celebrating literature and personal achievements, our pupils continue to grow, learn, and thrive.
Thank you all for your continued support and engagement with our school community. It's through our collective efforts that we create such a rich and rewarding educational experience for our pupils. As we look forward to the weeks ahead, I'm excited to see what new adventures and achievements await us.
