What a bustling week we've had at our school! It's been wonderful to see our pupils engaging in such a diverse range of activities, each one contributing to their growth and understanding of the world around them.
Our recent focus on Anti-Bullying Week has been particularly impactful. Our pupils have been delving deep into the subject of bullying and its effects, fostering a greater awareness and empathy among our school community. These conversations are crucial in creating a safe and supportive environment for all our children, and I'm proud of how maturely our pupils have approached this important topic.
The spirit of giving has been alive and well at Chiseldon, with our Children in Need challenge week. It's heartwarming to see our pupils so enthusiastic about helping others, embodying the values we strive to instil. Speaking of which, I'm thrilled to announce that we've raised an impressive £155 in cash for this worthy cause! And that's not all – many of you have been contributing online as well. A hearty well done to everyone at Chiseldon for your generosity and community spirit.
This led to our fantastic 'Gladiator Day'? The school was transformed into a scene from ancient Rome (with a modern twist!), as our pupils arrived dressed either as traditional gladiators or characters from the TV show. The creativity and enthusiasm on display were truly impressive. It was a joy to see everyone getting into the spirit of the day, and the school was buzzing with excitement.
Remembrance Day saw our pupils representing the school admirably at the cenotaph. Their respectful behaviour and attentive participation did not go unnoticed, with many praising how well they listened and took part in this solemn occasion. It's moments like these that make me incredibly proud to be your Headteacher.
Our Year 4, 5, and 6 pupils recently enjoyed an exciting day out at the Steam Museum. They were treated to a captivating show and participated in engaging workshops. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the children expressing how much they enjoyed the experience and what a great time they had. These educational outings are invaluable in bringing learning to life and creating lasting memories.
As we move forward, I'm filled with optimism about what we can achieve together. The way our pupils have engaged with these varied activities – from serious discussions about bullying to fun dress-up days – showcases their adaptability, empathy, and zest for learning. These are qualities that will serve them well throughout their lives.
Thank you all for your continued support in making our school such a vibrant and nurturing place of learning. Here's to many more weeks filled with growth, laughter, and achievement!
