Easing of Lockdown Rules

Good afternoon,

I know that you are all excited about the new rules and cannot wait to hug me, but can we please refrain for the time being 😂

I am however, relaxing the rules around wearing masks on the school site, outdoors.  Parents will no longer be required to wear face masks as you drop your child off at school - we are still not allowing parents in to the school building and all other rules apply, please see the roadmap published earlier.

We are still not holding face-to-face meetings as the restrictions we have in place are keeping us all safe.  I will keep monitoring this and as we receive further guidance, I of course, will update you all.

Year group hubs will need to continue as these restrictions have not been relaxed in schools.

The great news is that we are able to go on residentials.  I have organised a Y5 one to Pencelli, and it looks like that we are able to look at Y4 and Y6 to have an experience before the end of the school year, which we thought we would not be able to do back in March.

I am also pleased that if things continue, we will be able to return our residential trip to Berlin next year for our Y6 pupils - this is an amazing trip that allows the children to put their German in to practice whilst visiting their penpals.

Pyjamarama has been a great success and the children & staff looked great in their PJ's around the school.  Thank you so much for supporting the school with a fun day for the children.

We had our sharing assembly this morning and you can see all the pupils who were celebrated this week for their amazing work.  We are also celebrating our housepoint winners - parents may remember that our housepoints winners, were invited to a special meal with Mr Hatcliffe and I but due to the pandemic, this had to be postponed as hubs could be affected.  We are hoping to start this again after the half-term as long as cases in Swindon continue to fall.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Mr A
