We had a very busy week in Unicorn Class this week. We started the week by talking about our half term break and all the fun things the children had done and wanted to share to the class. We spoke about bonfire night, halloween, Diwali and Remembrance Day.
We created wonderful bonfire and firework pictures on black paper using a variety of media including chalks and pastels. These are now on the roof of the class and we can look up and remember the lovely colours and shapes. On Wednesday we talked about the Hindu festival Diwai another very colourful celebration and created Rangoli Patterns to bring our friends and classroom good luck for the next year. On Thursday after the children had been buying their poppies all week we spoke about the upcoming Remembrance Sunday and what it means. On Friday at the end of playtime the whole school observed a minutes silence. I was very impressed and proud of Unicorn Class as they stood silent and listened to why we observe this moment.
We also discussed and chose our parts for the Early Years Nativity. All letters have now gone home and we all look forward to you coming to support us next month. Please do not worry about costumes as we have some at school and if needed can make some if needed. We really want the children to enjoy this experience and hope that they have fun working with FS1.
Please could all children have a coat in school as it is getting colder and we will be outside for part of the day as long as it is dry.
