We returned to school with a fantastic attitude to learning as well as an anticipation for our forthcoming School of Rock trip to London on Thursday!
This week we have been working hard on our column mutliplication method and in English we have continued our work on A Monster Calls, experimenting with creative writing to excite the reader. Our joint effort, sentence stacking, is coming along really well. Our new topic for the half-term, The Great War is underway. We have talked about the Remembrance aspect of the war and been creating poppies in art. Several children have shared their personal, family links to World War One as well as Chiseldon's role in the war. We are all interestred to finding out more as the weeks come.
We also watched Bugsy Malone and have begun learning lines ready for auditions next week for roles in our Christmas production - it could get very messy!
The highlight of the week, however, was our trip to see School of Rock in the West End stage. It was simply fantastic: everybody was mesmerised by the brilliant performances of the talented children who played their instruments live. A good time was had by all. Our children were a real credit to the school throughout (even during the long journey back on the M4). Please see the photos below.
