This week we have been finding equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages in Maths. We have also been writing chunks for our own adventure stories based on the Phillip Pullman book, The Firework Maker's Daughter. Some of our writing has been fantastic and a battle to have our sentences added to the sentence stack in the classroom!
In Topic this week we have been looking at European landmarks, linking this to art and George Seurat's painting technique, pointillism. Next week we are going to create pointillism artwork based of various landmarks of the EU.
Having finished reading The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas this week, we watched the film on Friday where we also reflected on Holocaust Memorial Day (27th January 2019). It was a poignant experience and reduced many of us to tears: it is important to learn from the past to prevent such horrors being repeated. All the children were incredibly thoughtful and respectful throughout.
