I hope that you all had a good Easter break and that your first week back was a good one.
Year 2 have just had a really busy week.
On the Monday, the children had their topic celebration day which introduced their new topic them. They made their own loaf of bread as a class by pouring, mixing and kneading the dough. This led onto writing their own instructions of how to make bread and understanding how to include all of the important features of instructions.
The children were researching about where and how he fire started and they played a game online as a class which helped consolidate their new found knowledge of the topic.
During the week, the children had a visitor from the Fire department, where the children were taught all about staying safe and what to do if they witnessed a fire. They also had a visit from the road safety team who taught the children how to stay safe when crossing the roads.
The children have been practicing sats questions in the mornings and learning about the areas discreetly in their Maths and English lessons to embed their learning.
The children had their first swimming lessons on the Thursday and as soon as they had returned back to school they began planting their plants ready for their Science lessons.
