The children have been busy this week and they have been learning all about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. In English, the children have been researching facts about Brunel's life and what made him so popular and important during the Industrial Revolution. The children have also been learning about the features of a fact file and they have been researching and collecting this information so that they will be able to write a fact file about him next week.
In Maths, the children have completed learning about place value and how to solve word problems by understanding the language used. They have begun to use these skills in solving addition and subtraction problems, which they will continue to learn about in the final week of this term.
Next week the children will have the opportunity to take part in the spelling Bee and then on the Friday they will make their Easter Bonnets for the Easter parade.
The end of term class topic celebration will be taking place on this Thursday and the children will be creating their own straw rockets based on the pioneer Neil Armstrong.
I hope that you have all had a great weekend and Ill see you on Monday for the final week before half term.
