What an exciting last week of term we've had!
On Monday, we had a special art afternoon. We had to produce pieces of art based on a value. In Year 3 we looked at courage and honesty. The children had to design a pattern that they thought represented their value. We had some amazing designs! We then went into the hall where three artists were waiting to teach us how to create our disks. We used special paint to create our artwork so that it can be put outside. The children created some amazing pieces!
On Wednesday, we went to watch Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre in London! I have to say, we had an amazing day in which every child had such a huge smile on their face from start to finish. The children behaved excellently all day. They thoroughly enjoyed our tour through London on the journey which included Trafalgar Square, Harrods and much more! The performance was incredible (a little scary in parts! One very jumpy bit that made me jump just as much as the children!). The children were glued to the stage the whole time and were mesmorized during the songs and dances. I was very proud of every child and we had many comments throughout the day from members of the public who said what delightful children we had!
Thursday ended with a very excitable class doing our topic celebration. The children were making their own Miss Trunchbull hammers out of different materials. They then had the opportunity to become Miss Trunchbull and use their hammers to see who could throw them the furthest. We then got our parents to join in with singing some of our favourite songs from the musical.
