This week has been a short week in year 2 but the children have been learning in Maths, how to count in 10's and 2's and they were beginning to look at word problem solving questions using Division and Multiplication as the platform.
In English, the children have begun to explore the features of a Formal and Informal letter and they have been deciding which style of letter would be most appropriate to send to Queen Victoria through our 'Class Castle Display'. The children decided that a Formal letter would be most appropriate, and they will be researching information about her life and about the Victorians next week so that they can begin to think of which questions they would like to ask her in a letter.
This will lead to writing a persuasive letter to Father Christmas the following week.
Please can you remember to still read everyday for at least 20 mins as this is very important that the children continue to do so during this time of year and please could you sign your child's book to say when they have read and for how long please. Spellings and Times Tables will resume as normal this Monday.
Please do remember, that if your child does have any lines for the production, that they continue to try and learn their lines as the date of the Christmas production will soon be upon us!
Hope you enjoy this longer weekend and I will see you all on Monday for another exciting week.
