W/C 7th November 2016

This week Year 6 have been looking at Information Texts in English and Identifying Prime Numbers and Common Factors in Maths.

In English the class continued to write their own information texts. They focused on how to structure collected information into paragraphs, using a range of clauses.

In Maths this week the class consolidated their knowledge of prime numbers and looked at how to identify common factors. The children have an excellent understanding of prime numbers and once they broke down the target of 'Common Factors' into the two words 'Common' and 'Factors', they realised it was no different to just naming factors of specific numbers.

On Thursday the school was lucky enough to have Mr Lusher visit, who held and assembly and carried out sessions with each class about Remembrance Day and The Battle of The Somme. See pictures of his visit to Year 6 below.

Finally, the school visited the Cenotaph in Chiseldon to pay our respects on Friday morning. This saw us walk as a whole school down to the monument and carry out a two-minute silence at 11am.

Well done for an excellent week. Have a lovely weekend.
