W/C 5th September 2016

This week Year 6 have been looking at Number & Place Value in Maths and Letter Writing in English.

Our main focus in Maths has centred around how to 'Read, Write, Order and Compare numbers up to 10,000,000', the class have really excelled in this and will be ready to move onto their next target soon.

In English the class have looked at the different reasons why letters may be written. We studied their features and attempted to write an introduction to a letter of complaint. Separate to this we used a job advertisement to create a letter of application for a specific job role.

In our Topic sessions the children finished making their own pasta and boxes to place this in. We also started our knowledge harvest, collecting lots of thoughts and different ideas about our new topic to present in a poster.

I hope you have all enjoyed your first full week back. Have a great weekend.
